Project Overview
The Sea-to-Sky High-Level Masterplan establishes a coordinated vision to strengthen healthcare delivery across the Sea-to-Sky corridor. The plan positions Squamish as a more independent medical community and the regional hub for health service leadership, supported by specialized services from Lions Gate Hospital and the Lower Mainland.
Whistler is recognized for excellence in first-line emergency care, comprehensive community-based services, and aging care, while Pemberton is envisioned as a hub for innovative at-home care models and expanded low-risk on-site services to improve access and reduce travel. Central to the masterplan is a commitment to safe, equitable, and culturally informed access to care for the Host Nations, ensuring the future health system reflects community needs across the region.
Primary Services
MAKE provided strategic planning, current state assessments, facility condition reporting, and needs assessments to establish a clear understanding of existing conditions and future healthcare demand. The team led public consultation and engagement with clinical staff, physicians, First Nations, municipal and provincial representatives, and community members, and supported program development aligned with regional priorities. This work culminated in the preparation of community-specific masterplans for Squamish, Whistler, and Pemberton, supported by an integrated overarching masterplan for the Sea-to-Sky region.
