Project Overview
The Aberdeen Shopping Centre was designed by Bing Thom Architects and was one of the first BTA buildings to incorporate curved glass window walls and floating roof structures into retail design in Vancouver. The complex includes over 80 commercial retail units, a grand open atrium with a 3-storey water feature and light show technologies. Adjacent to the mall is a 4-storey parkade.
Constructed on Richmond’s alluvial soils, the building was preloaded and subsequently founded on over 300 concrete "franki" piles. Constructed on Richmond’s alluvial soils, the building was preloaded and subsequently founded on over 300 concrete "franki" piles.
