Project Overview

Fortinet Technologies currently operates three 100,000 sq. ft. buildings in Burnaby, BC, which serve as the company’s Canadian headquarters and include corporate offices and product testing laboratories. As one of Fortinet’s key North American hubs, the Burnaby campus plays a critical role in supporting the company’s global operations.

MAKE Projects is currently providing Project Management services for a series of major upgrades across the campus. The scope includes an electrical power supply upgrade to all buildings, replacement of the air conditioning systems serving the testing laboratories, and a tenant improvement for head office staff located on the second level of one of the buildings.

These improvements will enhance energy efficiency, ensure adequate power capacity for expanding test operations, and create a modernized workspace that supports Fortinet’s continued growth and innovation.

Primary Services

MAKE Projects is providing comprehensive Project Management and Owner’s Representation services to support Fortinet Technologies through all phases of project delivery—from concept and business planning to implementation and closeout. Our role ensures alignment between technical requirements, stakeholder needs, and operational goals while maintaining clear communication and accountability throughout each stage.

Our services include project planning across key checkpoints, risk management, design coordination, and stakeholder engagement. We provide ongoing schedule and budget oversight to ensure project objectives are achieved efficiently and within established parameters. MAKE is also managing the tendering and RFP process for Construction Management services and overseeing all aspects of operational readiness, including furniture fulfillment and installation. Document control and structured project closeout procedures ensure a smooth transition into occupancy and operations.

MAKE’s project approach is grounded in adaptability and collaboration. The project’s evolving scope has required continuous coordination with the client to meet their changing needs. Extensive planning and phased implementation have been key to maintaining efficiency and minimizing disruption, while weekly stakeholder meetings ensure consistent communication, informed decision-making, and proactive issue resolution.
