New Chapter in Downtown Healthcare: Vancouver City Centre

In December, a vital new healthcare hub quietly opened in downtown Vancouver: the Vancouver City Centre Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC). Designed to offer same-day care for non-life-threatening concerns, the centre is now helping bridge gaps in access for residents, delivering timely, team-based care in a thoughtfully designed space.

MAKE Projects was proud to support this essential healthcare initiative, providing project management services from tendering and award all the way through construction. Working closely with Vancouver Coastal Health and project partners, we helped navigate the complexities of procurement, contractor coordination, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring the project stayed on track, on budget, and on time.

With our team leading project delivery and managing risk, scope, and schedule throughout construction, the result is a fully integrated healthcare facility designed for community impact. The UPCC is now a critical part of the downtown care network, expanding access and improving outcomes for patients across the city.

This project is a great example of what happens when smart planning, collaborative delivery, and purpose-driven design come together.
