Meet
MAKE.

We’ve got an incredible team of driven professionals.

We believe strongly in what we do—and we genuinely love what each day brings. That’s why we’re thrilled to roll our sleeves up and dive into every new project. We can’t wait to see how we can help make your project better.

Why we made MAKE.

We founded MAKE Projects for two reasons: this work is our passion, and we know we can make things better.

We’ve designed MAKE to be lean and responsive so that we can offer agility and a streamlined approach, all the while staying personal so you always know where things are at. Our people bring a huge wealth of experience from a broad range of backgrounds, so we can match the most qualified staff member with your unique project for the best results.

Our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) policies.

We know how important it is to promote and emulate sustainability in today’s business landscape. That’s why we’re committed to modelling and promoting environmentally responsible practices, reconciliation, social equity, and economic prosperity.

Environmental Responsibility.

We aim to minimize our ecological footprint by efficiently using resources such as energy, water, and paper, actively encouraging digital documentation, and adopting environmentally friendly technologies whenever feasible. We’re in the midst of implementing waste reduction strategies, including recycling and responsible waste disposal practices, as we work to minimize our actions that would generate non-recyclable and hazardous waste.

MAKE monitors and reduces our carbon emissions from both our operations and the projects we manage. This includes promoting sustainable transportation options for our employees (which we’ve worked to make possible by locating our office on a major transportation hub), encouraging our clients to adopt low-carbon strategies, and offsetting any carbon emissions through purchased credits with an accredited offset company. We’re also working to create performance metrics to assess our sustainability efforts and will regularly report on our progress to our stakeholders, including clients, employees, and the public.

Social Equity and Ethics.

We are strongly committed to creating an inclusive workplace that respects and values the diversity of our employees and clients, promoting equal opportunities for all, regardless of race, gender, age, or disability. This extends to the hiring process, as we make sure that our job postings are accessible and inclusive. We uphold fair labour practices and comply with all relevant labour laws and regulations.

We actively engage with local communities in the areas where our projects are based, being intentional about understanding their needs, respecting their cultural heritage, and involving them in project planning and decision-making processes.

Meaningful Reconciliation.

We recognize and respect the rights of Indigenous peoples, including their land, culture, and self-governance. On a regular basis, we seek input and involvement from local Indigenous communities, including establishing partnerships and consulting with Indigenous organizations, elders, and knowledge keepers to ensure that our project objectives align with their needs and aspirations. We respect and adhere to cultural protocols when engaging with Indigenous consultants or participating in Indigenous events or ceremonies.

MAKE actively provides training and educational opportunities to enhance our team’s cultural competency and understanding. As a member of the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB), we are doing our best to contribute to economic empowerment and capacity-building within Indigenous communities.
